About the role
The City is excited to announce two exceptional Strategic Planner opportunities, inviting candidates to contribute to our dynamic team:
- Permanent Full-Time 35hrs per week
- Temporary Part-Time (2-3 days per week for up to 12 months with the possibility of extension)
In this role, you will work on innovative land use planning projects and develop strategy and policy responses in relation to complex urban and rural planning matters. Your expertise will be instrumental in the delivery of the City's compact growth model, as well as developing and implementing planning strategies and policies, advancing the City as a leader in best practice for urban and regional planning.
As a strategic planner, you will possess a thorough understanding of the NSW planning framework with proven experience in local environmental plan amendment processes. Excellent interpersonal and time management skills will be vital for effectively managing stakeholders and engaging with the community.
Your proficiency in managing multiple projects, combined with your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, will equip you to navigate the complexities of urban planning with confidence and professionalism. Proficiency in CAD, GIS, and Adobe Creative Suite is highly regarded.

About you?
- Degree in Urban Planning or equivalent.
- Relevant practical experience in a direct or related field.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence.
- Sound knowledge of NSW planning legislation.
What's on offer?
- Salary range between $96,123.76 - $104,446.38 (Full-Time) or $52.82p/h - $57.39p/h (Part-Time) pending experience + 11.5% superannuation
- Permanent Full Time 35 hours per week or Temporary Part-Time (2-3 days per week for up to 12 months with the possibility of extension)
